System Features
Here are a short list of the features available to.
Features
1. Questionnaire & Survey Design Features
- administer any kind of survey question, including dates, text and quantities, as well as questions in Likert,
- checklist and multiple choice formats.
- create questionnaires in minutes, store and draw questionnaires from our questionnaire library, use questionnaires simultaneously in multiple studies.
- invite respondents via e-mail, embedded links, publicly accessible web pages, or distribute locally printed user cards.
- use branching and jumps to direct participants to different questions and to different questionnaires on the basis of earlier responses.
- use questionnaire looping to complete a single block of questions repeatedly (e.g., for each product or event they purchased or experienced).
- all questionnaires administered are date and time stamped.
- total response time for each questionnaire is computed, saved and can be analyzed as a response style covariate.
- participant accounts can also be generated from predefined survey profiles, which determine the sequence and questionnaires to be completed.
- profiles can be changed as needed allowing participants to complete different block of questionnaires at different times or for different reasons.
- participants can re-start questionnaires where they left off – whether because they chose to do so, or because of an interruption of their local internet service, or because they inadvertently closed their browser.
- automatic advancement of questions to ease participant burden
- single or multiple questions per page
- provide patients with on-line contact information for help
- display percent of questionnaires, surveys and assessment tools completed
- survey questions are formatted through a user-friendly interface, that controls font size, style and colour quickly and easily.
- insert graphics as required.
2. Questionnaire & Survey Launch Features
- monitor survey completion in real-time
- download, tabulate and graph results immediately.
- graphs and plots as high-resolution graphics, suitable for print.
- manage multiple, multi-site, multi-administrator projects simultaneously.
- track repeated measures in multi-wave longitudinal studies
- integrate data input from multiple site using multiple measures.
- develop administrator specific interfaces allowing or restricting permissions depending on the administrators duties (e.g., data entry, data down-load, edit and manage questions, participant enrolment)
- questionnaires can be administered by staff, but data remains hidden, ensuring confidentiality and arms-
- length assessments of key quality outcomes.
- provide feedback on questionnaires to participants as warranted – as part of a treatment plan or to enhance participant interest and motivation.
- set alerts to notify administrators of individuals indorsing risk factors (e.g., suicide) or low levels of satisfaction.
- link related participants (e.g., parents and children at source) directly within the database
2. Tracking Progress
- our applications are implemented in PHP running under Linux on IBM servers offering top tier security, stability and scalability.
- because many questionnaires were designed and intended to be completed at a single setting – any questionnaires that are incomplete are restarted when the user returns.
- back-ups are made nightly to a second directly linked back-up server (i.e., back ups are not done over the internet) which facilitates frequent and fast back-ups and quick restoration of data as needed.
- access to surveys can be restricted – participants can be limited to taking the survey just once
- completion times of questionnaires is routinely tracked allowing administrators to identify individuals with extremely short or fast times can be identified.
3. Analysis Features
4. Data Security & Integrity Features
- designed to meet the security demands of health researchers in hospital settings
- reviewed and approved by research ethics boards.
- data is transmitted over the internet in encrypted format – prevents “sniffing” software from detecting what information is being transmitted.
- sensitive information is stored in separate, encrypted databases.
- automatic timeouts disable access to both administrators and survey respondents after long period of inactivity (i.e., more than 30 to 60 minutes).
- automatic deactivation of accounts that are not accessed for more than 30 days.
- individual studies can be immediately suspended, if and when required, without deleting or resetting
- individual accounts or suspending other studies.
- last login always posted.
- mandatory resetting of passwords every 45 days
- complete log of all access by administrators.
- our data collection and management technology can be licensed for use on hospital servers if required.
- rack mounted servers are located in secure dedicated location with 24 hour supervision and security.
- root access to the servers and applications are restricted to just three key individuals.
